Come on guys I wanted my the final pick before Jamee gets his internet back and takes the team back and picks Tim Ambrose as the keeper. Come on guys.

Gough has one hour and forty left before Corrin can go.
The man, the mountain, the Mathews. The greatest all rounder since Keith Miller. (Y)

    My final XI:

    Trescothick
    Afridi
    Ahmed
    Bevan
    Amla
    Fairbrother
    Stewart
    Pollock*
    Broad
    Willis
    Malinga

Have decided to make Pollock the captain in spite of his infamous cock-up. Have hopefully got a decent range of players in the team, two aggressive yet different openers, a decent middle order which includes the greatest finisher in the history of the game. Bowling picks a little risky, not much in the way of part-time options and Broad & Malinga probably wouldn't have been picked by many, yet are both excellent ODI bowlers IMO.

We'll see, expect that I won't poll many votes but will do okay in a sim

I've clearly picked too many Englishmen, mind, though I doubt many would argue with Tresco or Fairbrother

I'll sort out Dazza first, then 999ers. Navjot Sidhu, should be good partner for Jayasuriya. Good at rotating the strike like Atapattu, but also can hit out like Kalu, but for a bit longer.

    1. Sanath Jayasuriya
    2. Navjot Sidhu
    3.Ricky Ponting
    4.Inzamam Ul-Haq
    5.Ramneresh Sarwan
    6.Andy Flower (WK)
    7.Adbul Razzaq
    8.Daniel Vettori
    9.Chaminda Vaas
    10.Ajit Agarkar
    11.Makhaya Ntini

    Jaffna 999ers

    1. Herschelle Gibbs
    2. Virender Sehwag
    3. Dean Jones
    4. Mohammad Azharuddin
    5. Arjuna Ranatunga (c)
    6. Ajay Jadeja
    7. Brad Haddin (wk)
    8. Chris Harris
    9. Michael Holding
    10. Shoaib Akhtar
    11. Glenn McGrath

Was a toss up bit a slogging keeper batsmen that opens and a middle lower order hitter. We need one more cheat in the side, so I went with Brad Haddin. But really he was picked for balance. With Gibbs and Sehwag our top order was fine and I'm not a big fan of playing my top players out of position in Gibbs and Azhar. The side need a lower order hitter for the batting power play. Haddin also has the best batting average of the keeper left and strike rate of 80. He is modern keeper batsmen that all ODI sides need.

Strengths Jamee's players, weakness my players.

Nah Jamee picked up some very good specialist. I think the middle order up their with the best around and batting down to eight we have some good depth. Three good strike bowlers, but the 4th and 5th bowling options are a bit below par. I see Harris as a 5th bowlers at this level and well 10 overs from Ranatunga, Sehwag and Jadeja could/will be cannon flodder.

In my defence there was no all rounders left of any real quality. So it was either picking a bits and pieces player or bowling all rounder instead of Jadeja.

Decent side considering the amount of rounds missed.

Not many options left, but I've gone for Richie Richardson. A useful ODI opener early in his career averaging 33.71 batting at #2 with not 90s and one century at that position.

    Manoj Prabhakar - (LHB 1,858 runs @ 24.12, RM 157 wickets @ 28.87)
    Richie Richardson - (RHB 6,248 runs @ 33.41, RM 1 wicket @ 46.00)
    Saurav Ganguly - (LHB 11,363 runs @ 41.02, RM 100 wickets @ 38.50)
    Darren Lehmann - (LHB 3,078 runs @ 38.96, SLA 52 wickets @ 27.78)
    Hansie Cronje - (RHB 5,565 runs @ 36.41, RM 114 wickets @ 34.78) (c)
    Carl Hooper (RHB 5,762 runs @ 35.34, ROS 193 wickets @ 36.05
    Grant Flower (RHB 6,536 @ 33.69 ROS 104 wickets @40.25)
    Sir Ian Botham (RHB 2,113 runs @ 23.21, RFM 145 wickets @ 28.54)
    Tatenda Taibu (wk) (RHB 2,045 @ 26.21 ROS 2 wickets @30.50)
    Waqar Younis (RHB 969 runs @ 10.30, RF 416 wickets @ 23.84)
    Allan Donald (RHB 95 runs @ 4.31, RF 272 wickets @ 21.78)
