Gilchrist wasn't as good, for mine, at destroying bad bowling, as Jayasuriya was. And Gilchrist wasn't all that much better at repelling good bowling than Jayasuriya to cause me to consider Gilchrist > Jayasuriya.
Jayasuriya also has more longevity than Gilchrist. At least 4 years' worth of it. And if he can go on for longer that'll start to become considerable.
