Alphabet Teams

Which letter of the alphabet would make the best ever test team?

All 11 players surname has to start with the same letter..

Feel free to do any letter, and perhaps we could Sim the top 4 or 8 teams or something along those lines to see the gun letter.

Done this myself in my spare time - the answer is M,, with L or H close behind

M:
Morris
Mitchell
McCartney
McCabe
Miandad
Miller
Marsh+
Marshall
Muralitharan
McDermott/McKenzie/MacDonald
McGrath

With Martyn, Mushtaq and MacGill on the bench.
Very even team with a lethal bowling attack.

H:
Hutton
Hobbs
Hammond
Headley
Harvey
Hill
Healy+
Hadlee
Holding
Hughes
Hall

Easily the strongest batting of any one letter, bowling not quite as good as "M" or "L", and no decent spinner is an issue.

L:
Lawry
Langer
Lara
Lloyd
Laxman
Langley+
Lindwall
Laker
Larwood
Lillee
Lohmann
L's bowling is top drawer, batting is quite strong, albeit a bit short.

G is not bad either:
Greenidge
Gavaskar
Grace
Gomes
Ganguly
Gilchrist
Grout+
Gregory, J
Gillespie
Garner
Grimmett

Cheating and playing Gilchrist as a specialist bat.

Knew I was forgetting someone really really obvious in the H team - I was thinking "this team had a better looking bowling line up when I last did this"... Corrected above.

Washbrook for M Waugh, agreed re strength. Another option is to have Walcott keep and slot Walters in there.

H's have the strongest batting, M's the strongest bowling so far. Think we had the same thread as this not long ago iirc.

Maybe Hirst for Hill to improve the bowling. Hammond is a plausible 5th bowler, but somewhat redundant with the 4 main seamers.

Yeah, I named an XI of Test/FC players, roughly in position, that started with Q. Archie had been doing Australian specific ones but quit at that point...
