You would think Bangladesh Academy would be better in the shorter form, too.

Official end to hibernation.

The Corporate Cricket League schedule has been released, with two groups of six teams playing in the first stage from October 1, with the top two finishers in each group progressing to the semi-finals.

Teams can register as many overseas players as they like, but only one can play in each game. National team players will be availiable for the semis and the final, but only four can be registered, of whom three can play at any time.

The three-day player registration will start on Friday.

Group A
Beximco (defending champions), Syfang Fan, Channel F2 Advertising, StarTel, Chittagong Port Authority, Acme Laboratories.

Group B
Epyllion Group (last year's runners up), Biman Bangladesh, Ispahani Ltd, Asia Pacific Hotel, Raju Fish Culture Ltd, Partex Group.

OK, transfer time. There is basically a three-day signup period for the Corporate League, which started today. It's at the Bangabandhu, for some reason, despite the fact that it's currently a building site.

Epyllion
Shahriar Nafees, Shahadat Hossain, Tapash Baisya, Faisal Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim, Enamul Haque jnr, Nazmus Sadat, Tareq Aziz, Nazimuddin, Moniruzzaman, Shamsur Rahman.

Biman Bangladesh
Elias Sunny, Shahfaq Al Zabir, Jahurul Islam, Tamim Iqbal, Mosharraf Hossain.

Everyone else was referred to in the media as 'unknown'. Epyllion could wipe the floor with that lot, and although Shahriar Nafees and Shahadat Hossain will be unavailable until the semis, it shouldn't make much difference.

1 Shahriar Nafees
2 Nazmus Sadat
3 Nazimuddin
4 Faisal Hossain
5 Moniruzzaman
6 Mushfiqur Rahim
7 Shamsur Rahman
8 Tareq Aziz
9 Enamul Haque jnr
10 Tareq Aziz
11 Shahadat Hossain

Second day of the registration period was today.

Acme Laboratories
Habibul Bashar (certain but as yet unconfirmed), Mohammad Rafique (ditto), Hasibul Hossain, Manjural Islam, Alamgir Kabir, Ehsanul Haque, Hannan Sarkar, Manjural Islam Rana, Nasiruddin Faruque, Marshall Ayub, Dhiman Ghosh, Saghir Hossain, Lablu Rahman.

StarTel
Imran Ahmed, Ahsanullah Hasan, Debrabrata Paul, Farhad Hossain.

Chittagong Port Authority
Murad Khan

Partex
Wascoroni Ahmed, Shiran Sharif, Nazmul Hossain, Hasanuzzaman.

Biman Bangladesh
Dolar Mahmud.

Apparently Chittagong Port Authority are looking to recruit mainly from the Chittagong area, so there will be some new faces (and hopefully new talent) in their side. However it looks like a two-way slug between Epyllion and Acme for the title. Beximico are yet to make a move, but there can't be too many decent players left.

Asia Pacific Blossom Hotel

CCL has been delayed by two days: heavy rain expected.

I wish they could do that with Lancashire in the Championship.

CCL starts tomorrow.

Big news is that Hemang Badani is playing for Beximco, and is now easily the best player in the competition with the national stars absent. Beximco start their title defence against Chittagong Port Authority at the Dhanmondi Stadium.

I liked this titbit of information as well:
State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Mohammed Rezaul Karim will declare the fourth edition of the tournament open at 8.45am.

Some CCL action for you, from the first two days of competition.

I'm relying on Bangladeshi news sources here, as there is no coverage from the major sites, so some of the scores are a bit incomplete:
