    Back to the FC stuff:

Chittagong, with 6 first-innings wickets remaining, lead Barisal by 315 runs
    Chittagong 315-5 (92) Masumud Dowla 80, Gazi Salahuddin 69, Nazimuddin 60, Ehsanul Haque 44*, Waseluddin Ahmed 34*

Nafees Iqbal the only real failure - he made a 43 ball 3. Ehsanul continues to make runs, albeit at a slow pace, he's faced 120 balls so far.

Sylhet, with 2 first-innings wickets remaining, lead Khulna by 326 runs
    Sylhet 326-8 (90) Imtiaz Hossain 114 (132, 16x4, 1x6), Golam Mabud 42, Rezaul Haque 82*; Humayun Kabir 3-89

Sylhet have a strong bowling attack too, with Tapash and Enamul both playing. Will be very confident already.

Dhaka, with 8 first-innings wickets remaining, trail Rajshahi by 262 runs
Rajshahi 283 all out (80.5) Jahurul Islam 51, Junaid Siddique 43, Farhad Hossain 34, Anisur Rahman 32; Uttam Sarkar 3-24, Mahmudallah 4-64
    Dhaka 21-2 (7)

Uttam Sarkar, who made runs on FC debut last week and Anwar Hossain, who hit a ton, are the men out. Uttam also showing his worth as a bowler. Jahurul in good touch.

Barisal, with 10 first innings wickets remaining, trail Chittagong by 387 runs
    Chittagong 471 all out (147.2) Masumud Dowla 80, Gazi Salahuddin 69, Nazimuddin 60, Ehsanul Haque 114 (229, 15x4); Nadif Chowdhury 4-71
    Barisal 84-0 (32) Imran Ahmed 35, Hannan Sarkar 47

Ehsanul makes his first hundred, after six(?) fifties. Imran Ahmed has been in decent form for Barisal, while Chittagong's bowlers look weak.

Sylhet, with 9 second innings wickets remaining, lead Khulna by 325 runs
    Sylhet 360 all out (102.4) Imtiaz Hossain 114 (132, 16x4, 1x6), Golam Mabud 42, Rezaul Haque 105 (198, 10x4, 2x6)
Khulna 138 all out (39.5) Aslam Ali Khan 33; Hasibul Haque 5-40, Enamul Haque 3-17
    Sylhet 103-1 (33) Golam Rahman 44*, Imtiaz Hossain 43

Dismal batting performance from Khulna. Who warned you that Sylhet's bowling attack looked strong?

Rajshahi, with 8 second innings wickets remaining, lead Dhaka by 226 runs
    Rajshahi 283
Dhaka 177 all out (59.5) Sajjad Ahmed 33; Farhad Hossain 3-18
    Rajshahi 120-2 (37) Jahurul Islam 60, Farhad Hossain 46*

Plenty of Dhaka batsmen made starts, no-one went on to make a big score. Second shock of the week on the cards for Dhaka.

    - I'm away from tomorrow till a week Sunday, so if you want to check the scores, use either www.newagebd.com (click sports, then pdf scorecard, www.cricbd.com (good reports but they use players nicknames), or www.cricketarchive.co.uk (click seasons>2005/06>Bangladesh>Ispahani Mirzapore NCL or NCL OD). Those two BD websites are updated at midnight Dhaka time, about 5pm CET.

I go away for a week and the thread goes to pot. Typical, lazy CW members.

Time for a huge update (plus there's the SL/BD series going on):

    NCL (16-19 Feb)

    Barisal drew with Chittagong
    Chittagong 471 (147.2) Masumud Dowla 80, Gazi Salahuddin 69, Nazimuddin 60, Ehsanul Haque 114 (229b, 15x4); Nadif Chowdhury 4-71
Barisal 406 (154.1) Imran Ahmed 63, Hannan Sarkar 91, Humayun Kabir 54, Arafat Salahuddin 66; Shabbir Khan 3-69, Yasin Arafat 3-59
    Chittagong 236-3 (55.5) Masumud Dowla 84, Nafees Iqbal 130 (179b, 21x4, 1x6)

Nafees' ton may have contributed to his Test recall, can Ehsanul do much more?

Sylhet beat Khulna by 141 runs
    Sylhet 360 (102.4) Imtiaz Hossain 114 (132b, 16x4, 1x6), Rezaul Haque 105 (198b, 10x4, 3x6); Humayun Kabir 3-107
    Khulna 138 (39.5) Hasibul Hossain 5-40, Enamul Haque 3-12
    Sylhet 222 (76) Golam Rahman 82; Manjural Islam 4-24
    Khulna 303 (99.2) Nazmus Sadat 95; Hasibul Hossain 5-71

Ten in the match for Hasibul.

Rajshahi beat Dhaka by 218 runs
    Rajshahi 283 (80.5) Jahurul Islam 51; Uttam Sarkar 3-24, Mahmudallah 4-64
    Dhaka 177 (59.5) Farhad Hossain 3-18
Rajshahi 242 (75.4) Jahurul Islam 60, Farhad Hossain 57, Naeem Islam 50; Mohammad Sharif 4-76
Dhaka 130 (43.4) Shafaq Al Zabir 3-35, Mushfiqur Rahman 4-23

Loads of batsmen making starts, few going on to big scores.

    NCL (OD) (23 Feb)

Rajshahi beat Barisal by 19 runs
    Rajshahi 177 (50) Naeem Islam 65; Arafat Salahuddin 3-11, Monir Hossain 3-45
    Barisal 158 (47.3) Mushfiqur Rahman 4-30, Kamrul Islam 3-31

Mushfiqur looking good with the ball.

Sylhet beat Dhaka by 1 wicket
    Dhaka 119 (43.1) Rezaul Haque 4-19, Saif Mahmud 3-18
    Sylhet 120-9 (37.2) Mohammad Sharif 3-32

Thriller on a poor wicket, Sharif continues his excellent season. U19 star Mehrab Hossain jnr took 2-19 for Dhaka.

Chittagong beat Khulna by 17 runs
    Chittagong 247-7 (48) Gazi Salahuddin 65; Manjural Islam 4-41
    Khulna 230-9 (48) Aslam Ali 96, Asadullah Khan 63; Faisal Hossain 4-47

Chittagong looking strong now that other sides have lost international players.

CURRENT NCL SCORES (Day 3 of 4)

Barisal beat Rajshahi by 115 runs
    Barisal 168 (53.4) Alamgir Kabir 3-43, Kamrul Hasan 3-29
    Rajshahi 261 (75.2) Naeem Islam 102; Hannan Sarkar 3-40
Barisal 320 (95.3) Shahin Hossain 68, Marshall Ayub 54; Shafaq Al Zabir 3-65, Farhad Hossain 3-79
    Rajshahi 112 (42.2) Ansiur Rahman 3-16, Monir Hossain 3-33

More runs for Naeem Islam, but he can't prevent a stunning Barisal fightback.

Dhaka, with 9 second innings wickets remaining, require 316 runs to beat Sylhet
    Sylhet 203 (69) Rezaul Haque 64; Talha Jubair 3-53
    Dhaka 152 (63) Al Sahariar 60; Hasibul Hossain 5-68, Ashiqur Rahman 3-48
    Sylhet 286 (110.4) Golam Mabud 84; Talha Jubair 3-35, Sajjad Ahmed 3-42
    Dhaka 22-1 (17)

Dhaka facing a real uphill struggle against Hasibul Hossain, who is in the middle of a real purple patch and already has bowled Uttam Sarkar.

Khulna, with 7 second innings wickets remaining, lead Chittagong by 87 runs
    Khulna 292 (89.2) Nazmus Sadat 103, Saghir Hossain 101; Shabbir Khan 5-51
    Chittagong 422 (105) Gazi Salahuddin 59, Faisal Hossain 180 (245b, 24x4, 1x6); Ziaur Rahman 3-56
    Khulna 217-3 (75) Sajjadul Hasan 70, Saghir Hossain 62

Does Hakon want to review his previous comments.

Full tables and averages with tomorrow's update, stay tuned to this thread and the BD-SL thread for more info.

Drown your sorrows as Bangladesh stare down the barrel with a shot of NCL cricket!

    NCL (OD), March 2

Barisal beat Dhaka by 8 wickets
Dhaka 190 all out (49.1) Mehrab Hossain jnr 56
    Barisal 191-5 (38.2) Imran Ahmed 66, Nadif Chowdhury 52*

Barisal crush Dhaka, who again struggled after being reduced to 84-6 before Mehrab and Kamrul Islam (30) put up some resistance. Nadif took 2-46 to go with his 42*

Sylhet beat Chittagong by 36 runs
Sylhet 239 all out (50) Golam Rahman 60; Yasin Arafat 3-35
Chittagong 203 all out (41) Gazi Salahuddin 62; Nabil Samad 5-32

U19s Samad, who turned to game and Tamim Iqbal, who opened and hit 43 for Chittagong impress. Ehsanul and Faisal fail.

Rajshahi beat Khulna by 2 wickets
Khulna 184 all out (48) Nazmus Sadat 64; Shafaq Al Zabir 5-24
    Rajshahi 188-8 (48) Nazmus Sadat

Would have been a slaughter if it hadn't been for in-form Nazmus. Rajshahi recovered from 128-7 thanks to Mushfiqur Rahman (16*) and U19 Suhrawadi Shuvo (26). Promising bat Shamsur Rahman made his List A debut, grinding out 28 from number 3 for Khulna.

No sign of Mushfiqur Rahim or Saqibul Hasan, must still be recovering since they'd easily make any current divisonal side.

    Table:

    1 Rajshahi 14 pts
    2 Dhaka 8 pts
    3 Chittagong 6 pts
    4 Sylhet 6 pts
    5 Khulna 4 pts
    6 Barisal 4 pts

With three rounds remaining, Dhaka would have to win every game by a sigificant margin and hope Rajshahi (who have 100% record) lose all three. Game, set and match as far as I'm concerned.

    Thank you Chris.

    NCL March 3 (Day 1 of 4)

Dhaka, with 4 first-innings wickets remaining, lead Barisal by 262 runs
    Dhaka 262-6 (90) Mehrab Hossain jnr 133* (249b, 23x4), Kamrul Islam 36, Sajjad Kadir 33*

Dhaka enjoy fairly solid day, with U19 Mehrab Hossain jnr making his second and highest hundred. Barisal did have the away side 39-4 and 97-5, but Mehrab shared stands of 67 with Kamrul and 99 with Sajjad. Dhaka attack usually pretty reliable, so they'll feel that they're in charge.

Chittagong, with 3 first-innings wickets remaining, lead Sylhet by 417 runs
    Chittagong 417-7 (90) Tamim Iqbal 113 (84b, 18x4, 2x6), Gazi Salahuddin 115 (140b, 16x4), Nazimuddin 62, Ehsanul Haque 73*; Monirul Islam 3-85

Tamim Iqbal and Gazi Salahuddin shared an explosive 195-run partnership for the second wicket in just 27 overs, before Ehsanul and Nazimuddin cemented their position. Little seam used by Sylhet, with in-form pacer Hasibul Hossain only given 12 overs - perhaps says something about the pitch.

Rajshahi, with 6 first-innings wickets remaining, lead Khulna by 99 runs
Khulna 122 all out (31.4) Mushfiqur Rahman 5-40, Alamgir Kabir 3-17
    Rajshahi 221-4 (54) Jahurul Islam 27, Farhad Hossain 38, Farhad Reza 38, Anisur Rahman 68*, Hasanuzzaman 28*

Rajshahi dominate early on, with their attack of Shafaq Al Zabir, Mushfiqur Rahman, Alamgir Kabir and Suhrawadi Shuvo looking dangerous.

Barisal, with 7 first-innings wickets remaining, trail Dhaka by 287 runs
Dhaka 395 all out (141.5) Mehrab Hossain jnr 196 (378b, 30x4), Kamrul Islam 36, Sajjad Kadir 88; Ishraq Sonet 3-90, Monir Hossain 3-53
    Barisal 128-3 (38) Imran Ahmed 39, Hannan Sarkar 36*, Nasiruddin Faruque 31*

Dhaka in the better position with the runs on the board, but may lack a specialist spinner to bowl out Barisal quickly enough. Mehrab took his 7th wicket stand with Sajjad to 185.

Sylhet, with 2 first-inninhgs wickets remaining, trail Chittagong by 383 runs
    Chittagong 417-7 (90) Tamim Iqbal 113 (84b, 18x4, 2x6), Gazi Salahuddin 115 (140b, 16x4), Nazimuddin 62, Ehsanul Haque 138 (202b, 17x4, 1x6), Yasin Arafat 35; Monirul Islam 6-117
Sylhet 196-8 (57) Golam Rahman 43, Imtiaz Hossain 42, Ejaj Ahmed 76*; Yasin Arafat 5-50, Elias Sunny 3-56

Sylhet in dire straits, anywhing other than an innings victory would be a shock result now. Despite a strong start, they collapsed from 84 for 0, thanks to the spinners, both of whom contributed with the bat: Elias Sunny put on 116 for the 8th wicket with in-form Ehsanul, while Yasin frustrated the Sylhet bowlers once breakthoughs had been made.

Khulna, with eight second-innings wickets remaining, trail Rajshahi by 29 runs
Khulna 122 all out (31.4) Mushfiqur Rahman 5-40, Alamgir Kabir 3-17
Rajshahi 353 all out (90.1) Jahurul Islam 27, Farhad Hossain 38, Farhad Reza 38, Anisur Rahman 95, Hasanuzzaman 36, Mushfiqur Rahman 57*; Sadik Khan 3-87
    Khulna 202-2 (51) Nazmus Sadat 117* (141b, 14x4, 1x6), Shamsur Rahman 70

Khulna bite back on day two, counterattacking after hard-working Rajshahi clubbed together a competitive 353. Runs and wickets now in the match, for national discard Mushfiqur. Nazmus and youngster Shamsur put on 166 for 2nd wicket. Shaping up nicely.

Barisal, with 4 first-innings wickets remaining, trail Dhaka by 90 runs
Dhaka 395 all out (141.5) Mehrab Hossain jnr 196 (378b, 30x4), Kamrul Islam 36, Sajjad Kadir 88; Ishraq Sonet 3-90, Monir Hossain 3-53

Barisal look to match Dhaka score on a curtailed day. A draw looks likely.

Chittagong beat Sylhet by an innings and 69 runs
    Chittagong 579 all out (121) Tamim Iqbal 113 (84b, 18x4, 2x6), Gazi Salahuddin 115 (140b, 16x4), Nazimuddin 62, Ehsanul Haque 138 (202b, 17x4, 1x6), Yasin Arafat 35; Monirul Islam 6-117
Sylhet 214 all out (68) Golam Rahman 43, Imtiaz Hossain 42, Ejaj Ahmed 90; Yasin Arafat 6-56, Elias Sunny 3-64
Sylhet (f/o) 296 all out (69.5) Golam Rahman 35, Imtiaz Hossain 46, Golam Mabud 86, Rezaul Haque 65; Shabbir Khan 7-81

Comprehensive win for Chittagong, in both innings the Sylhet openers got starts but couldn't convert them into big scores. Yasin takes another two in the second innings.

Rajshahi beat Khulna by 10 wickets
Khulna 122 all out (31.4) Mushfiqur Rahman 5-40, Alamgir Kabir 3-17
Rajshahi 353 all out (90.1) Jahurul Islam 27, Farhad Hossain 38, Farhad Reza 38, Anisur Rahman 95, Hasanuzzaman 36, Mushfiqur Rahman 57*; Sadik Khan 3-87
    Khulna 332 all out (92.5) Nazmus Sadat 151 (240b, 17x4, 1x6), Shamsur Rahman 70, Mohammad Salum 43; Shafaq Al Zabir 3-59, Farhad Hossain 3-26
    Rajshahi 105-0 (20.3) Jahurul Islam 51*, Farhad Hossain 49*

Khulna batting fades meekly, Jahurul makes more runs.

    RAJSHAHI RETAIN ONE-DAY TITLE

Rajshahi Division have successfully defended their one-day title by crushing Sylhet by five wickets on their home ground.

Rajshahi beat Sylhet by 5 wickets
Sylhet 103 all out (103.5) Shafaq Al Zabir 3-19, Suhrawadi Shuvo 3-9
    Rajshahi 106-5 (29.4) Jahurul Islam 58*

Rajshahi seamers tear weak Sylhet lineup to shreds, before Jahurul notches up another fifty. Their aim now must be to continue their 100% OD record.

Chittagong beat Dhaka by 29 runs
Chittagong 245 all out (49.1) Masumud Dowla 31, Nazimuddin 37, Faisal Hossain 32, Elias Sunny 46*; Mohammad Sharif 3-52, Mehrab Hossain 4-37
