    Cracks on Bat

Hi does anybody know if its normal for a cricket bat to have cracks running up the grains as i have a bat which i have oiled and have been knocking in but there seem to be cracks appearing in the grains!! is that normal will they split right open?

    Cheers

It's rather normal to happen, when you have scored a few runs. If it happens on a brand new, properly knocked-in bat, I'd inform the seller.

If you're worried you could always throw on an anti-scuff sheet to protect it a little more. The cracks themselves won't affect the performance though.
