In football btw, only the big nations seem to win the WC every time.. no underdog rises up even though the format allows it.
But the format allows big teams to be knocked out fairly early in a regular basis

That's actually pretty true, t20 WC should have been in 2017 and CT in 2018

Never forget the diving bloody Italians. Australia would have won if it weren't for those euro cheats.

No. Part of the excitement of the WC is not knowing fully well how all the teams stack up against each other at the start. CT just before the WC would do the exact opposite of generating excitement for the WC. It would be like jerking off in the afternoon in order to get hyped for your big date that evening. What a silly idea.

And harder to sell the crowds on coming when the big one is coming to town only a year later (in this cycle).

Are you talking about the cricket or the date analogy of Agar?

You should, some of the games are really good and the teams try hard.

I'm certain you are right but there is a lot of cricket on and If I sat and watched cricket all day on the box I'd never do anything! The scheduling here actually conflicts with the county championship and I tend to be watching or listening to that.

Pratters expressing his ignorance should be an own goal right? Since when is ignorance and being ill informed a sign of pride?
