If I had my vote over, I'd go Strauss as well. Did in the predictions thread, in fact.

He's likely to get more opportunities than the Australian middle order guys I think, and he's looking good and should have a good series.

Ponting would be second for mine.

I honestly reckon people will recognise Strauss as a truly world-class batsman after this series. And I reckon, if the situation calls for it, he could well pull out a couple of classy rearguards a la Ponting at Old Trafford.
