Is it dumb to think this is Darren Lehmann talking about the Ashes when you open the thread?

My thoughts too regarding the player concerned.

However, I felt that he was talking about the football because it seemed understandable that it was likely to be a cry for help, a plea for someone to notice him and to give him a job.

A bit like the old, washed-out wino saying 'spare any change?'
