Zimbabwe announce new coach

As of today Zimbabwe have announced that the former Zimbabwe international player Robin Brown will take over the coaching reins of the national squad.

His first task will be to take the team to the World 20/20 Championships in South Africa and come home with some results under his belt. His team are currently on a high after showing what they really are capable of in the recent series against the Saffers.

Brown believes that the new found confidence the team has found could prove to be the difference in the forthcoming 20/20 world cup.

Kevin Curran had recently been under alot of pressure to take Zimbabwe forward, not just from the board but also the supporters of Zimbabwe cricket. The ICC demand results from them as the past two years Curran has been in charge he has witnessed a dire decline in his team. Whether or not that was just down to him we shall not know, but if Zimbabwe can put forward some good results during the rest of this season then we will no doubt know he was always the wrong man for the job.

Curran held the coaching job of Zimbabwe for 42 one day games and only managed to win nine of those, the majority against Bangladesh.
