Sri Lanka start NZ tour well
James Nixon |Sri Lanka have started their tour of New Zealand well ending day one of their three day tour match against the Otago Volts on 141-3.
The morning session was rained out with play getting underway after lunch.
The tourists struggled early losing Sanath Jayasuriya for a golden duck and Upul Tharanga for 19.
Captain Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara recovered the situation and together put on a 84 run partnership before Jayawardene was dismissed for 48.
When bad light stopped play Kumar Sangakkara was not out on 51 with Tillakaratne Dilshan at the other end on 14.
