Inzy eyes English county cricket

Inzamam-ul-Haq is hoping to play English county cricket in a bid to keep his fitness levels up and keep his place in the Pakistan Test team.

Inzamam resigned as Pakistan captain following their early World Cup exit at the hands of minnows Ireland and retired from one-day cricket.

Inzamam told AFP that “I have offers from league clubs in England but I want to play for a county to ascertain my form and fitness for a place in the Pakistan Test team.”

Inzaman went onto say “I am training hard and am fit. I played a one-day match at the weekend and will continue my efforts to get into the Test side.”

Pakistan’s next Test series is against South Africa in late September and he is turning to English county cricket as there is no domestic cricket on in Pakistan prior to this series.
