Windies Team Discussion, and Other Related Things Thread

The 18-year-old Andrew set the tone for the match with a magnificent double century, compiling a commanding 205 on Day 1 for Team A. His innings anchored the batting effort and laid the foundation for a formidable total. He was well supported by Ross Powell, who added 86, while his West Indies Under 19 teammates Kunal Tilokani (56) and Israel Morton (37) offered a good showing along with Kadeem Henry (34) to ensure Team A posted a strong 463 all out in 84.1 overs on Day 2.

BTW, Oshane Thomas (Jamaican) plays for this team.,

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced that former West Indies head coach Otis Gibson will return to the team in the capacity of fast bowling consultant. Gibson, whose official start date was March 1, is expected to fill the position for a year, with the potential of an extension. He served in a similar capacity for the West Indies’ series away to Nepal last September.

Why did Greenidge only play 128 ODIs out of a possible 206? Compared to other WI batters like Viv, Haynes etc he skipped a lot of ODIs. I couldn't find any good reason for this and chatbots were making reasons without any sources.

Kevin Sinclair's agent should be ashamed for having allowed this to go out. This could only happen in West Indies cricket.

This had to come out at some point. I wish him the best.

I visited Cow Dam a few times…my high school was within walking distance. Poverty is high and for a youth like him coming out of that and representing West Indies must have been a huge moment for them. Proud.

I hope he makes up with the people running our cricket

What's wrong with it? I didn't think it was overly controversial.
a complete lack of accountability. the attempt to exonerate himself in the very first few paragraphs by leaning on his humble upbringings is a bit crass imo.

as an aside, whats been discussed in the public melee doesn't even go beyond the surface with regards to the issues the WICB and GCB have had with Sinclair. he's essentially been blackballed from the CPL since 2023, he recently got into multiple altercations playing club cricket in T&T. how about when he managed to get fined 15% of his match fee as a sub v bangladesh back in 2024 for carrying on like a clown despite several umpire warnings?

i think kevin needs professional help and i hope he seeks it.

Attacking T&T Red Force opener Evin Lewis has declared himself available for West Indies Test selection. The Marchin Patriots player will make his first appearance for the Red Force in First-Class cricket in nine years when they face the Leeward Islands in a three-match series in Antigua, starting Sunday (April 12).

Unveiling the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva, as the "Home of the Red Force," Lewis said he’s ready to wear the whites.

"I'm available, to be honest. I've always thought about playing Test cricket. I think now is the perfect opportunity to go there, execute, have some fun, and enjoy my cricket," said Lewis.
