This kid has u 19 wc final winning ton. He may debut by next year for senior team. Question is whetever sooryavanshi is talented enough to be successful in longer formats ala another teen prodigy called sachin tendulkar

Suryavanshi is a different kind of talent to Sachin. Both are A level young talents for me in Indian batting (alongwith Shaw). Tendulkar had refined his technique as a teenager to the point he was our best test batsman in SENA even as a teen. Suryavanshi doesn't have that ofc yet. What he does have is hand speed and a bat swing which is quite Sobers/Lara esque and consequentially a raw hitting ability previously not seen for a kid his age.
He has the ability to be successful in tests no doubt. He needs to develop the technique and temperament.

The shorter the format, the more successful he will be in it. He is an ultra aggressive batsman. However, he could still pull a Sehwag like career in Tests.

Perfect analysis Thala.
I watch little T20 but saw the highights of RR v MI.
The "ancient" wonderkind Jaiswal is an absolutely superlative player, already a stunning Test batter.Yet Sooryavanshi,at 15,already an astonishing player, matched him stroke for stroke in fact out-hitting Jaiswal. The new prodigy has such a high and looping backlift yet hits the ball so long,so sweetly. What hand-eye coordination he must possess.
He has the powerful upper body strength of a 25 year old.
Contra, when I first watched Jaiswal he was very thin although he has built up a little.muscle since then.He gets more wrist or "whip" into his stokes than Sooryavanshi who has extraordinary power and bat-speed.
For me,nothing gives me more pleasure at present than watching India bat....Gill the stylist,KL Rahul, the underrated stylist, Jaiswal,Safaraz Khan (if and when they pick him) and....Pant!!

One suspects Suryavanshi will overtake Sachin’s T20 legacy very soon ;)
