Yes, they’re official hosts, so no issue clearly with Pakistan playing all their matches there. Presumably, if they make semi or final then they can play those in SL too right?

I think you and I both know that an India/Pakistan Final would not be played in SL.

Fortunately, Pakistan are rubbish so highly unlikely to be an issue.

There is no guarantee of anyone making the finals in the T20 format mate. I just meant even if it is, say Eng-Pak, you would still need to move it out as they would have to pencil in the finals hosted in the big stadium for sure (Ahmedabad) and it would have to change if Pakistan make it. This thing is gonna be a pain as long as Pakistan and India are selected as hosts. But thankfully this deal is only till the 2027 events and that means only the 2026 T20 WC has this issue.

FWIW, the pitches in Dubai are apparently being overseen by PCB curators as they are the host nation.

And we had this mentioned in today's pitch report according to crapinfo.

12:25pm Pitch report: A light breeze blowing in Dubai. Square boundaries are 63m and 71m, the straight hit being 76m. Dinesh Karthik looks at the pitch and says that it is a black-soil pitch from Pakistan. Dry surface, similar to the last two games. He expects it to get better under lights.

Actually if PCB wanted they could have hosted India at 2 places : Dubai and Sharjah . They could have also hosted Dubai semi-final on Wednesday. But then some frauds would have missed the opportunity to have a go at India . PCB makes crap schedule to save money and then usual suspects have a go at India .

This tournament couldn’t have been more better from Indian perspective till now.
Pakistan spends 75 million dollar to host ICC tournament . And gets eliminated in the first round after playing only 1 game in Pakistan And to top it all English commentators are fuming about India after losing 3 out of 3 games in first round .

I think you'll find English commentators are far more concerned with the state of the English team. The skipper's been forced out already and McCullum knows he's lost the feelgood factor he once had.

Maybe not on this forum but lots of England/ Australia supporters on Twitter/Reddit are fuming on India as if we have made this schedule. They aren’t even pretending to be neutral. Blame ICC and PCB also for not hosting India at 2 places in UAE ( Dubai and Sharjah) and not having SF on Wednesday/Thursday. Ideally Dubai SF should have been on Thursday giving all Teams sufficient rest .
