What does Bumrah need to achieve to overtake Sachin?

To the question in terms of cricket ability Bumrah is right up there with Sachin or anyone else for that matter . He's as good a bowler as there's ever been. But in terms of greatness, I can't think of anything he can do to overtake Sachin. Sachins consistency vs teams over such a long period is unprecedented.

If and when he is among the top 3 test bowlers in history then conversation like that can start. 300+ wickets will do.

150+ test wickets at similar efficiency , mostly against good teams. That should put him as rank 1 in test for me without any hesitation. If that happens, it's not a conversation for me. He will be clearly ahead of Sachin. I don't think it will happen. He has realistic chance of getting rated alongside Marshall but not over taking him.

To beat Sachin in greatness one has to pull a Bradman where one is so far ahead of the rest or a Sobers where one is reasonably comparable in one discipline (batting) and better at the other two: bowling and fielding.

He has scored more runs in a test over then Sachin

Other than that, there is no scenario where Bumrah is greater than Sachin based on the plausible range of career outcomes.

Bumrah absolutely destroyed a very good Aussie batting line up in their own backyard and his average of sub 20 over a reasonably decently long career means imo he's already surpassed anything Sachin has done (batting equivalent).

Don’t agree. Doing it for as long as Sachin has for as good as he has done it has incomparable value

Excuse me but Bumrah twice helped bowl India to series wins down under that alone trumps any single series performance in Sachins career. Overall for longevity and consistency Sachin wins but Sachin never reached the impact in batting, Bumrah has in bowling.

anyone can have a flash in the pan moment. I’m not saying bunrah is a flash in the pan but he just kind of got here.
