His brother made it to the national team at 30 and has had a good go of it, I’m holding out that he gets over these niggles.

Proteas Men Squad Update - Namibia White-ball Tour

Hollywoodbets Dolphins all-rounder Jason Smith has been ruled out of the T20 International (T20I) Tri-series against Namibia and Zimbabwe in Windhoek due to a right adductor muscle strain.

He will undergo further assessments to determine his availability for the One-Day International (ODI) series against Namibia, scheduled to start on 09 September.

No replacement has been named. The squad will depart for Windhoek from OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday, 25 August.

Can it be replicated against the highest quality is the question? I think others should be ahead of him but I would be disappointed for him if his SA A utter dominance isn't rewarded.

Galiem & Smith were having fun for SA Emerging. Both ran past ones. Smith was 85 off 78 and heading for his 3rd hundred quicker than a run-a-ball in the last 8 months. Pity.

Schalk Engelbrecht will score lots of runs down the order. Very good batting technique. So hopefully keeps getting good bowling opportunites.

Comms were saying they declared when Ackerman was dismissed but good to see Kaplan & Potgieter got a little bat.

It's quite impressive to see Bangladesh sending an Emerging and an A team here. That's a bit of investment.

Verreyne has 4 100s, but you feel like there are so many keeper batters, Qeshile, Esterhuizen, Rickelton, that his place can't be secure...

There is also more body of work. I mean Verreynne has been averaging 50+ over multiple seasons for WP. Has more experience and produced. Including winning the County Champ with Notts.

Esterhuizen for example has one full season. Qeshile averaging low 35 for Warriors?

It's easy to look at the new shiny toy sometimes.

But this is what we want. Pressure on spots in the team. That little period where we were bad we didn't have that.

Durham is his club in England and who probably propelled his international career so I guess he was never going to leave. Considered an ATG there already with his stats.

Big summer for him for the Proteas though you imagine. Has plenty competition breathing down his neck.
