South Africa team selection

It's so **** and it has me thinking what the team will be with the lack of proper test and ODI cricket. Sad.

IPL Saffers
CSK: Brevis
DC: Stubbs, Miller, Ngidi
GT: Rabada
KKR:
LSG: Markram, Breetzke, Nortje
MI: Rickelton, De Kock, C Bosch
PK: M Jansen
RR: Pretorius, Ferreira, Burger, Maphaka
RCB:
SH: Klaasen

So what does that leave ?

Reeza Hendricks (is there any point?)
Rassie van der Dussen (is there any point?)
Tony de Zorzi
Jordan Hermann
Jason Smith
Bryce Parsons

Rubin Hermann (wk)
Connor Esterhuizen (wk)

Dian Forrester
Delano Potgieter

Eathan Bosch
Gerald Coetzee
Nqobani Mokoena
Duan Jansen

Bjorn Fortuin
Keshav Maharaj (Leicestershire Count contract so may not be selected)
Nqaba Peter
Prenelan Subrayen

Ottneil Baartman
Lizaad Williams
Lutho Sipamla
Gideon Peters
Will probably also apply to NZ too so basically an experimental sides playing a series for $$$.

Breetzke and Northants have agreed to cancel his 2-year contract as Breetzke is rising up the ranks with international cricket and IPL involvement they want someone who will be around more regularly.

Its a shame. He is being rested for the Warriors in the current 4-day game. He has bossed the domestic scene, Scored 100s for SA A but how does he push his case ? Playing T20 cricket mainly.

Northamptonshire County Cricket Club can confirm that Matt Breetzke will not be returning to the Club in 2026.

The past year has seen Breetzke rise up the ranks in international and franchise cricket, meaning that his workload needs to be taken into consideration to ensure that he continues to hit those same levels.

With the IPL running from mid-March to the end of May, Matt will miss a number of games and with other international and potential franchise involvements, it has been decided that having an overseas player with full availability in the T20 Blast will be more beneficial to the team as we look to push towards another Finals Day appearance.

“I’ve really enjoyed the last two years with the Steelbacks but with the amount of cricket coming up, it wouldn’t be fair to return and not be there for all the games.” Breetzke said.
“I’m backing the boys to do well again this year and hopefully they get to another Finals Day.” He added.
Head Coach Darren Lehmann said: “We would’ve loved to have seen Matt back but being able to have an overseas player with us throughout the whole tournament will hopefully help us keep a good rhythm and settled squad.
“We’re all wishing him the best for the rest of the year.”
An overseas replacement for the T20 Blast will be announced in due course

Nortje's form in international cricket on flat pitches is a worry. Got smacked by WI now 29 of his first vs India

Ngidi, Jansen and Bosch good.
Nortje poor.
Rest not great.
Keshav only one of the bowlers not bowled today.

South African players winters

Imagine some not sorted will sign in PSL but hopefully some County Cricket deals still. Also there are those 5 T20s in NZL + SA A

Ideally want Bavuma to be ticking over before next summers Tests so a County deal is smart.
