This was a great find.

1989/90 England Rebel Tour where the 2nd test was cancelled. This was the SA squad for the first test.

Rice was dropped for Wessels and their feud had been going for EP v Transvaal already.

Back: Brian McMillan, Allan Donald, Roy Pienaar, Dave Rundle, Kepler Wessels, Richard Snell, Any idea @Stefan9 @StephenZA @Kenneth Viljoen ??
Think it's the physio, Craig Smith.

There were some Bradfield and Pope that I thought went elsewhere.

Mickey Arthur. Westville Boys ?

This was such a fun era. Then you had those Plascon Academy boys that I put in SA Domestic thread coming.

Brian McMillan for WP?

Pope yoyoed between ep and border, obviously when it became Warriors was moot.
Arthur was Natal schools: https://iol.co.za/capeargus/sport/2005-09-13-arthurs-recipe-for-cricket-success/

McMillan played for wp for most of the 90s... but not often because of sa commitments.

1998/99 season also had two players who played professional rugby and cricket.

Errol Stewart (Proteas, KZN Dolphins & Natal Sharks)
Dan Van Zyl (Boland cricket , Western Province Rugby & Springboks)

I still find Stewart winning both Currie Cups in the same year remarkable.
Roy of the Rovers stuff!

I was wondering if this has ever happened in the major Commonwealth team sports.

It got me looking at Denis Compton. Won the County Championship with Middlesex in 1947 and then the English First Division Title with Arsenal in 1947/48 seems the closest effect.

Yeah that's consecutive so it counts. Making an achievement like that as recently as the mid-nineties when people playing at the top of their country's pyramid in more than one sport had become very rare is particularly notable though.

Loving this so much @GRAB seeing it in overview like this with the non-international guys.

Really thought Steven Pope was Queens College.

Want to get an overview on post WWII players. Like a Hall of Fame. Not necessarily just internationals. There are a few guys in the years before this I could just not find where they were educated.
