The only thing I'm going to add to this, and I have asked and gotten permission to say this much (though not to say who they are), is that there is one other very long term, highly respected member who was extremely upset by that post (amongst others tbf) and what it led to and is scaling back their engagement with the forum substantially as a result, though they aren't leaving. I'm not going to say any more than that for now, but they may well want to speak for themselves at some point.

That was...... a lot, and more importantly displayed or illustrated quite a bit about some individuals. Sadly not in any way surprising, and I should point out not the ones being targeted.

Most importantly, it's a tragedy what (I assume) did happen to @GIMH and heartbreaking what @sledger is going though. I have 3 kids / quasi adults and I can't imagine having to go through what you are, I do genuinely wish your family the absolute very best. 🫂

I'm obviously quite late to the party, but I do agree with what many have said and that a year seems quite excessive and harsh.

I have my feelings towards Kirk and I guess that also influences my feelings about the original sin here, but I can agree a ban was warranted, just imho not of this duration...
