Referee breakdown by country should be correlated with number of professional matches played in each country, rather than necessarily quality of the national side.

I liken the Moroccans to Atletico Madrid, they do have some flair players, but they can also scrap..Be interesting to see what Morocco turns up vs France.

The pace in that France forward line will test Morocco like nothing else so far.

They will know France quite well .
Hakimi , Diop and Halhal spent a lot of time in France and Mazaraoui has played for big teams in Europe.Thats just the defence

Well, in all fairness, Morocco did apply to join the European Union back in the 80s, so their national team coming over to Wafer isn't that massive a leap.
Not like there isn't a precedent either, Israel demonstrably not in Europe and there's probably at least a couple of former Soviet countries who only get in through Grandfather rights. Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan off the top of my head.

It's not just a couple of players tbf, basically their entire squad is made of players who were born in Spain or Netherlands or France

Armenia borders Iran as well as Azerbaijan and Georgia as well as Eastern Turkey. I struggle that the predominantly Christian religion makes it European given the Geography. There are quite a number of southern Russian regions that are Muslim to the north of them. Georgia is more debatable given the Caucasus as a barrier.
