Looking forward to India v Australia tonight. I'm a bit nervous because the Aussies collapsed in the past two games needing a rescue.

At least one of the top 7 will come good and help them to a decent score. The likes of McGrath and Sunderland need to come to the party with the bat a bit more. Also, I think Litchfield is in better form than her scores have showed and I think it's a matter of time with her.

India need Mandhana to come good. She's their best bat and she hasn't done enough for them so far. Jemimah is also better than her scores have showed. Ghosh and Rana saved them in the last game.

Jemimah seems pretty out of form. I wonder if they're better off leaving her out and bringing in Renuka to strengthen the bowling. Easier call to make if they can feel confident that Smriti will come good.

I'm concerned that the 5 bowler strategy will backfire at the business end of the tournament.

We don't need Rana batting at no.9 with only 5 bowling options. We need one or two batters to level up and bring in sixth bowling option in Renuka/Radha.

Mandhana form is important for another reason in this tournament. For some reason we are stuck with Pratika and Harleen who are shutting shop when batting together and killing the momentum. Last thing we need at the top of the order is putting unnecessary pressure on middle order so early in the match.

I completely agree. I can't see how Australia and England in particular won't exploit the lack of bowling depth - India would have to take a lot of wickets before the last 10 overs or else they're in trouble (as we've already seen a bit so far) and that's more likely with Renuka or Radha there anyway.

I'm guessing they don't have a better option than Harleen at #3 at the moment?

Before they went with Harleen I was hoping they would go with Jemimah. But guess they see her as a good player of spin hence asking her to bat at no.5.

Harleen has been doing decent on the runs count but boy I'm worried about the strike rate and the impact it's having on others to follow.

Harleen has been in good form I think. It'd be a massive call to drop her.

That's fair. I couldn't quite remember if she's been scoring runs, I just have a strong impression of the Pratika/Harleen partnership getting a bit bogged down.

Is it better to field first? I get the impression it is good to have a target so you know how hard you have to go.

Looking pretty flat tbh. Bowling under lights might be good for India if Kranti Gaud can cause some damage?

Reckon Australia can always deepen their batting given that four of the top seven can bowl. They might need as much batting as possible today as India are on course for a big score.

Rana just needed to keep the strike there and get as many as she can. She's a good enough bat to do that.

Ended up being a bit short of what it could have been.

Its a good score but not impossible. At one stage India looked like getting 350+. India getting bowled out and only playing 49 overs is pretty poor from where they were.
