More SA women vs. White Ferns! Make it a new Chappell-Hadlee thing.
It's interesting when you read about the history between these two teams.

Their first meeting was in a 3-Test series in 1972. En route to SA, they beat Australia in a one-off Test (NZ's first Test victory over Australia, men's or women's), then in SA they won a Test at Kingsmead to win the series 1-0, NZ's first Test series victory vs SA & until 2024 the only one, men's or women's. This cartoon refers to it as well as the men's tour to the West Indies that happened at the same time.

They were actually the last official international side to tour SA until the end of apartheid.

Back down to earth today for Melie with a golden duck.

But these two have recovered nicely after we were 3-3 at one stage.

Gutted to see Halliday fall two short of a well-deserved hundred, but what a partnership that was.

EDIT: Green gets to triple figures!

Comfortable start for the South African openers. Hope we can break this dangerous partnership soon.

South Africa dropped Kerr twice in the second game, and New Zealand is returning the favor here with Wolvaardt. She was dropped in the first over on 0 and again before she reached 50. There is nothing in the wicket, so they are going to need to do something very soon.

Both set batters gone! We really needed those breakthroughs. Interestingly poised now.

Dercksen is gone now as well. This is a great opportunity for New Zealand to turn the screws with two new batters and no Reyneke at the back end to worry about.

Falling apart here. Bosch gone, and it is difficult to see how she can get more games. South Africa is sending Jafta in next to get the run rate above 10.

The way Tryon played the other day, would have thought it would make sense to get her in now to give the chase a bit of impetus.

I think the 66-run margin flatters us a little bit - I was nervous for a large part of the chase. But overall, both the T20 and the ODI series feel like a big step in the right direction for our team.
