Breathing a bit of a sigh of relief from a NZ point of view. With only the top two teams from each group progressing, Group 1 looks absolutely brutal.

Group A has 1,3,6,8.
Group B has 2,4,5,7
It's actually pretty fair (they both add up to 18). Also, the lower tier nations in Group B are stronger than in Group A.
You could actually argue that B is stronger than A even if it doesn't seem it.

Yeah, superb game for the skipper.
Zimbabwe have a bit to work on (unsurprising given their lack of experience at this level), but jeez their ground fielding was excellent - comparable to some of the top teams.

Seeing as I was on the rankings, Zim are 16, behind such powerhouses as Thailand, Papua New Guinea and UAE!!

Was super confused about this until I read the scorecard.
Thailand women are actually fairly good from what I remember.
I remember reading folks talking about how Thailand deserved to join the Women's Championship over Zimbabwe, at least on merit. I think the ICC or someone basically admitted that Zimbabwe got admitted because they have FM income which means they can afford the bilateral schedule required.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised to see Pakistan get closer than I expected but 30 extras certainly helps.
