Their domestic records would suggest their's very little between them with GP averaging 40 and Bracewell averaging 38. I suspect the difference in their test records reflects that GP has spent a lot more of his test career bowling in conditions that are kind to spinners.

Phillips is miles better with the ball. His 5fer against Australia was quality. Bracewel doesn’t have that in him at all

Windies have a chance here. NZ's weakest seam attack in quite some time I'd wager. Lovely day in Wellington, a light breeze and not some of the cloudy freezers that Windies have encountered here in recent years.

Pitch looks quite slow as well, not the Basin I've seen in the past where it has grass cover and zings through from a length

Gotta say, this might be the most debilitated NZ bowling attack ever. Henry, KJ, O'Rourke, Smith, - that's our entire first choice bowling attack. Throw in injuries to Fisher and Santner and the merciful absence of Kugz and this is only really a half-strength A attack. WI with a golden opportunity to push for a result.

Plus Sears who is ahead of some of those mentioned in the pecking order (or at least would be if it wasn't for the injuries he's had since his last test potentially limiting his viability as a future test option)

I honestly don't see a Test bowler right now in Foulkes. Needs the conditions to be exactly as he requires to be effective - ie new ball, movement through the air, quick enough deck

Maybe once the shine comes off one side he'll pick up a bundle, but Foulkes really does look rather ordinary to be opening the bowling...

I cbf doing the work myself, do any domestix watchers have an insight into Rae's middling-to-poor FC record and whether it reflects

- he sucked but has improved
- he's just generally mediocre
- that record isn't actually that bad in this era and playing out of Otago/Canterbury

Re: the latter, Duffy has a similarly modest WPM and 30+ average so is that sort of record just not that bad?

Tage picked up a side strain in the final net session.
Campbell should also be safe for a while on that India 3rd innings hundred. Also, he usually does something stupid to get out, as opposed to being woefully inadequate like some of the other West Indian batsmen.
