Even by the gutter standards of PCB, this is pathetic. Do they even have functioning brain cells? Saim Ayub has probably been picked because he made hundred in the CPL last Thursday. Now he has to leave that gig and come straight into the test squad. And why are Abdullah and Usman dropped?

Look at it this way, at least there's a reason to watch this last test. I kind of prefer this to the inevitable mediocrity we've come to expect. Literally no-one has any idea how this team will perform, including the coaching staff.

Absolute madness. How on earth can we expect those players to be ready to play a test match in just a few days?

Well there is 8 days until the game starts (i.e. 9 September), which I must admit that I had not reckoned on as I hadn't really checked the schedule that much. Then England play Sri Lanka in white ball stuff supposedly two days after the test ends, although who thinks that any test match will go five days at the moment given the likely conditions?

On overs alone, the 2nd Test would barely have made it to Lunch on Day 3 were it not for rain. The First Test wouldn't have even troubled the Day 3. Long term forecast for next week looks pretty good (apart from Day 1). I should imagine there will be a 3 day break minimum before the ODI's.

The whole Imam thing seems utterly bizarre. Did he just suddenly decide he didn't fancy batting in this Test? I believe there's some previous too where he tried something similar in NZ (rumours of him using ink to make it look like a severely bruised toe after he'd been hit on the foot). Surely someone like this should never play Test Cricket again.
