What was the point that top level football management just became a bunch of out of their depth arseholes spouting LinkedIn bullshit?
Before I hit you with the 'old man yells at sky' meme from Simpsons.. can we have a little more context please?

Haha I didn't know that. An ever better one I heard is that they have only attempted 1 through ball the entire season.

Edit: correction - I got that wrong. They have attempted 11 through balls*
that's what I was saying using a different phrase.either way it's not good.

Speaking of aging managers, it must be reasonably probable that Martin O'Neill will lead Celtic to the Scottish title, which would just be batshit crazy outcome from this season. Still rooting for Hearts but if I was a betting man it would be Celtic.

Saw the Guehi news break while heading to bed last night. Just got home from golf so haven't had time yet to see what's being made of it on socials etc.

My thoughts were this looks pretty bad for LFC, especially after such a public chase and the deal falling over in the summer. It initially felt a bit arrogant of us to assume the player wouldn't get his head turned by another club and he'd come for free on similar terms if we waited.

However, I have thought about it since seeing the news. I'm not surprised we didn't match City's wage offer (without knowing the details yet) despite our interest and how this now looks. Edwards and co made it clear they weren't going to play games with Palace again.

We're in a weird spot to be making investments for this manager after the window just gone. There is no certainty he will be around in a month, let alone next season - or that whoever takes over is going to want that profile of player. I can understand keeping the powder dry to give (hopefully Alonso) that extra freedom to rebuild the defence.

I'm a big Guehi fan but I don't think this loss is as big as Konate's departure will be. Maybe that's just my sensitivity towards losing players for free after Trent. I have to give Palace credit for getting a fee, City credit for getting the deal done when it was in the player's interests to wait, and obviously Guehi himself who will be laughing all the way to the bank. I'll also be interested to read what Glasner has had to say about it.

LFC aside, it now makes the title race a lot more interesting too which can only be a good thing.

Obviously internet can be misleading, but the only players on similar wages to him at Pool are Salah and VVD so once City came knocking it was game over. I'd be more annoyed about it not getting wrapped up last summer than this month.

The Manchester derby was weird, Dalot should have been sent off but City don't get to sulk about that because ultimately its Diego ****ing Dalot :p

ETH and Amorim tbf have also beaten City but those were smash and grab jobs, this was oddly enough much more comfortable.

Manager bounce. So maybe United can just have a coach on a weekly basis and then just sack after losses for the next guy?

Parked the bus and the countered. It was a good result but that won’t work against teams that sit in a low block. Carrick is the vibes coach like Ole. Which will work until the players get bored.

Yeah the issue for Carrick will be once they inevitably have a small slump and then it will get very ugly.

Arsenal next is a free hit, they should lose as Arsenal on a much higher level, but Fulham will tell where they are, they are on a nice run (before today) and the sort of game they struggle in after such high profile fixtures.

Uncle Casemiro was great today but how many games in a row can he do that. At least they only have 1 game a week to worry about.
