Round 1 was in November. Next you'll be saying the World Cup starts when qualifying begins.

Irony of Carrick been brought in as manager , he probably hasn't been replaced in the midfield yet.
Cunha has had some moments since he was signed, but overall its being a poor return, his selfishness especially isn't helping. He was gun at Wolves but was that simply just a purple patch or have Utd broke him like they have so many other signings?
City and Arsenal next, guaranteed losses, but it will be interesting to see how they accommodate Mbeumo and Amad if Carrick doesn't adopt the Amorim formation.

Amad has been poor on the left and isn’t better than Mbuemo. So one of the better players won’t play unless you play him or Mbuemo out of position. Mount and Cuhna looked really poor today. Funny how after 2 games Fletcher is calling them fragile like Amorim and ETH did.

It’s not a valid comparison given that the World Cup is a tournament held on neutral territory which everyone has to qualify for. The whole point of the FA Cup is the nature of it which means to say it starts in November is just missing the point. It starts in the summer. I’ve a friend who has played in the FA Cup many times but he’s never played in it in November.

I have been to qualifying round games in latter part of September at Dagenham (before their spell in the Football League) and Barking (which was a very old school club come park ground). All good fun and there is a bit of je ne sais quoi about it that many other games don't have, be they FA vase, League Cup or league games.
