Pretty dreadful game. Fair play to Liverpool, but why don’t they always put in this level of effort?
We scumbagged it. I don't think we played particularly well, Arsenal just had no intent to win it. They didn't come out for the second half.

I am fuming with Martinelli at the end there. Bradley is on the ground and obviously very seriously injured.... not only does he throw the ball at him, he then knees him in the back and tries pushing/dragging him off the field.

That's one of the most disgusting things I have seen on a football field in a long time. I would have had zero issue with a Liverpool player taking a red there to flatten him.

If that's the best team in this league it says a lot about the state of English football.

Not especially defending him, but he was clearly incensed by Bradley managing to drag himself back onto the field having initially rolled off it. When players do that, you normally suspect they’re not very injured. But clearly in this case it looks a bad one.

And as for your last point, aren’t Arsenal leading the Champions League too?

Bradley only moved slightly after the ball was thrown at him. He never left the pitch.

Watch it again, makes a clear move to get further onto the pitch which is when Martinelli reacts.
He definitely moved, I'm not disputing that. I just don't think he ever left the pitch. It wasn't the typical sort where the player is completely out and then rolls back into play.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's a broken ankle... he was too busy dealing with the pain and grabbing his leg that he wasn't going far regardless.

@Molehill - he never once rolled off the pitch.

Far out... watching that back he grabs his knee not his ankle. That's awfully ACL looking to me.
Well Slot knew why Martinelli reacted, even if he never left the pitch completely, he made what appeared to be a calculated move to get further onto it. Seems like everyone has apologised and made up and moved on.

Hope it's not too serious, Portsmouth have just lost a player for the entirety of 2026 to an ACL.

Yeah the apology was class and very necessary. I'd say both leadership groups encouraged him to do it. Was clear he didn't realise how bad the injury was but even still, just stay away from him.

They are a brutally common injury, we lost Leoni (our 19yo CB) to one earlier in the season. Throw in Isak's broken leg and it's just what we didn't need. Fingers crossed for him, he had a brilliant game.

I'm intrigued to see the fall out from that performance from an Arsenal perspective. Yet another game where Arteta has put the handbrake on - the second half in particular was really poor tactically. A win there probably puts the title race to bed.

Arteta seems to have a brain fade when he comes up against certain teams. But they're beating pretty much everybody else so it's still hard to see how they don't win it, especially as their squad is largely all available. I looked at the bench (likely FA Cup line up) and I fear for my injury ravaged Portsmouth team on Sunday.

Gyokeres getting a load more grief, but not like things improved when he came off. I think Arsenal improve again when Havertz returns, his movement just suits this line up more.

A bit of a sad day in British football with former Leeds player and Welsh manager Terry Yorath dying aged 75 and Kevin Keegan diagnosed with cancer.
I went to watch Wales play a few games with my dad as a kid during the Yorath era, including the famous 1-0 win over Germany.
Not to mention Martin Chivers dying either the same day as Yorath or the day before.

Sure, if you're a reactionary Twitter idiot. A title race is not done before the FA Cup starts FFS.

Macclesfield 1-0 up over Palace at half time. Playing on the plastic pitch they look quite comfy as well.
They completely outplayed us tbh. Not just in terms of work rate and chasing everything, but they controlled and passed the ball better than Palace, who were flattered by only losing by one goal. Maybe it's a consequence of everyone knowing that the manager and the best players want out. Ultimately a result like this, as well as Macclesfield played, is down the attitude of the premiership side

Biggest gap in FA cup history for an underdog victory as well - previous owners of the winners of that gap? - Crystal Palace.

(or at least that's what I garnered from the comms)

FA Cup started in November. What does that have to do with a comment in January?
Would you mind pointing me in the direction of any FA Cup results Arsenal (or any other top flight club) had in November and December, as I seem to have missed those.

Always liked going to pompey when I used to go arsenal away. Us and them had a strange friendship that came about half by both of us loving Henry and the other half both hating spurs
