He hasn't, he's one of the 4 IPL players joining the Bangladesh ODI tour

(Head, Connolly, Bartlett and Dwarshuis left out of Pakistan Tour only due IPL)
He was also with Punjab, no? If Connolly flew back early could be also not have? I would take him over any seamer not named Ellis in the current squad.

Whatever it takes!!!
The elder Minhas looks 25 than 21 but is definitely a player with potential. Hopefully its the end of Nawaz(3) and that ilk. I would even try him in tests over the SLA uncle Noman.

Nice innings from Peake there. Good to see him get some confidence up at this level.

Labuschagne needs to go from ODI's though (probably Tests as well tbh). Would like to see Connolly in for the final game if he's available. If the selectors really want to keep a similar player then go with McSweeney instead. Probably provides comparable bowling, younger and a potential captaincy option in the longer term.

I'd like to see this for the Bangladesh ODIs

1. Marsh
2. Head
3. Short
4. Inglis
5. Green
6. Renshaw
7. Connolly
8. Bartlett
9. Kuhnemann
10. Ellis
11. Zampa

Edit: But can Connolly bowl as I just realised he never bowled in the IPL?

Is Marsh fit ?
He hasn't been ruled out yet and last I read he was hoping to join the Bangladesh tour?

If Marsh is out then Head and Short would open with Carey coming back in the middle order (as Labuschagne is done and Peake is not in the squad)

Connolly in for Sangha so cricinfo have Peake batting at 8. Also Inglis to open so Labuschagne gets his #3 spot back in maybe his last ever ODI (Carey listed at 4)

Connolly playing as a batsman only (like he did in IPL) so that's a bizarre line-up with Peake at 8.

3 bowlers in Ellis, Zampa and Kuhnemann and then 20 overs needed from Short, Renshaw, Labuschagne and Green (who bowled only 2 overs total in first 2 games)

Shame Inglis hasn't been able to figure out test cricket despite doing well at shield level recently. Last two years and a bit he's averaged 46 @110 SR in ODI's and 27 @160 in T20I's. He's also our second highest run scorer in ODI's in that time and fifth highest in T20I's, so not a small sample size. Also done all of that without really having a set position in the batting order in either format. Just bats wherever the team needs him to and makes it work.
