I am watching for three overs or so. Does not look like a bunsen to me. Definitely something for the spinners but guess not a pitch where you see teams getting out as cheaply. One of the commentators just said 240 par here

Watched in afternoon it was turning square. reckon it's bit easy to bat under lights but damn they are literally batting at a strike rate of 50-60 with spinners literally unhittable.

On a standard pitch reckon this Aussie batting line up can put up a fight. Pindi used to be a batting Beauty
Pak did the same earlier before WT20 proper Mirpur style bunsen burners for a weakened Aussie unit in that T20 series.

Aqib Javed is notorious now for bringing this philosophy in Pakistan.

Ramiz tenure actually had decent tracks for limited overs in Pakistan even the test match pitches for SA series and BD series in his tenure had good pace and carry and something for spinners.
Flat beds were a issue and yeah they got BazBalled on those.
Their limited overs side was a lot more watchable back then

Oh boy this is going to be a long short tour. If we could bring a player that was available but not selected it'd have to be Webster. Could be worthwhile trying him out as the lower order hitter and moving Green up the order where he can settle against the hard ball and field restrictions.

I'd make a few adjustments..I'd drop Labuschagne for Connolly, and Sangha for Zampa ..Id give a debut to Liam Scott

It's terrible no matter how you slice it. But there's no point packing the side full of bowling options. Just luck as many batsmen as you can and get 50 overs out of them IMO. Usually a terrible idea in ODI cricket to do that but when the bowlers aren't particularly good and the bowlers/all rounders are all equally as bad it's not the worst tactic

Keep Zampa, Ellis, Kuhnemann as bowlers and the rest just your best 8 batsmen. You can easily get 20 overs out of Green, Connolly, Short, Renshaw, Scott etc and not be much worse off

Shart Inglis Green Renshaw Carey Connolly Peake Scott Kuhnemann Meredith Zampa.

Not really a fan of 2 keepers in one side but I want Carey in the middle so Inglis can open. If the pitches are turning then I favour loading the batting. Besides if we pick 7 batsmen we have a long tail from 8 -11. Ellis' odi record isn't flash so I'd go for the pace of Meredith. I don't expect pace to be an influential factor given the types of pitches Pakistan seems to be preparing. Move Green to 3 where he'll hopefully get the best of the conditions. Zampa, Kuhn and Connolly along with Renshaw and and Shart gives a lot of spinners. I'd probably swap Connolly and Peake in the batting order. Scott has a good domestic 50 over record so lets test him out here.

Yeah, I felt that was a key moment. After they'd been Bazballed 4 times in a row across 2 series, they thought 'fcuk it' and rolled out the same pitch again they'd used in the previous Test and picked two wily old spinners. It may have earnt them short term success, not sure what the long term future looks like with this strategy though....
