No hopers who made it

We're well placed to post in a thread about no hopers. When there's one open entitled 'players who their country thought would be world beaters because they dominate a domestic T20 league that actually is a fairly woeful standard' then Australian posters will be welcomed with open arms.
Relax brother I wasn't complaining. It's an improvement on what the thread was before, ie "name any cricket player and tell their story to fit the extremely loose criteria implied by the thread"

Haha I know. All in love.

I felt that was one of my wittier posts, however

I don't watch the IPL, and haven't for a decade, so I can't comment

I do watch the Big Bash, however. It is gold. It never disappoints on so many levels.
I wish they played into the big bashes strengths more with how it is marketed, at least internationally. Right now your not going to outbid the SA20 for big name players, so stop trying to do that with the whole auction thing. Play into the shithouse moments, the horrible fielding, the club cricket heroes like owen, and the shithouse commentary.

He'll never play international cricket, but Luis Reece is currently the leading wicket taker in Div 2 of the County Championship bowling left arm swing at 65mph.

He played against England in a tour match in 99/00 as a spinner batting down there order. Think he was only 19 though at the time.

I think "New Zealand cricket" would be a good answer to this thread. Have long exceeded expectations and so many of their players been greater than their apparent records might suggest.
Thanks to the Hood Report.

Probably things like this that makes Key/Wright/Stokes/McCullum ignore the county system.

They need to offer you a job. This is exactly what needs to happen

Not much different in division 1 - not sure how fast Worcestershire's Tom Taylor bowls but he's definitely a journeyman, yet tops the wicket charts.
