How and when did you started following cricket seriously?

The ODI leg of India tour of Australia 91-92, just prior to the 92 WC. But more interestingly my grandfather had video casette recordings of games from late 1970s and 80s. Got hooked to cricket by watching those old tapes, especially the 1985 world series.
Those World series cup games in the 80's were fantastic. Couldn't get enough of them.

Easy one, my first cricketing memory is Botham 1981, hooked ever since.
Thats my first cricketing memory too. The first series I recall watching a lot of was 84 V's the West Indies.

I wouldn't say I got hooked on the game though until I'd moved to Aus and took my Dad who was visiting to the MCG for the 2002 Ashes test. That was the start of it for me.

My first cricketing memory is Kapil Dev in 1992 at the age of 8. Truly got addicted in 1996 watching Sachin bat. We didn't have cricinfo or internet in those days. I used to track the runs in my notebook after every match for Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid and Azhar.
cricinfo was launched in 1993

Would have been 75/76 West Indies tour of Aus, started scoring, making up fantasy teams and calculating averages, memories of Lillee, Thomson Fredericks 169 and Lloyd's 149 in Perth

My father took me to the first ever odi at the MCG in 1971

Was only about 5 so can't remember much but I can still see the ground in my head

Think I really got into it a few years later during the 74/75 Ashes

We moved to the eastern suburbs around that time and used to attend lots of shield and tests as kids used to play games on the hill or concourse in front of the stands

Good times

The other major catalyst I remember was the introduction of colour television as test cricket was one of the first live sports to be broadcast and everyone was watching

I think my first memory of watching cricket was actually the Headley spell at the MCG in 1998.

I think my first memory of watching cricket was actually the Headley spell at the MCG in 1998.
This was the series I started watching, but during the Waugh/Healy partnership in the first test. At a family friend's house it was on the telly and my friend and future team mate was already into it by then so we watched a whole session.

I used to pronounce McGrath "McGraff"
