A good reminder of how close (and track dependent) the battle behind Max and the top 3 teams is this season.

Lando with lap records in 2 consecutive GPs...only to see that lap record dissappear in a matter of moments.

Will be an interesting start tomorrow for sure, have a little feeling turn 1 won't be particularly clean

Norris is in an interesting bind being stuck between a driver who doesn't give a **** in Verstappen and a driver who doesn't need to give a **** in Piastri.

One bad GP and Norris is right back in this. No way Piastri is giving no ****s.

Piastri should be pissed by that
I’m expecting big discussions on a MacLaren conspiracy towards Oscar lol. Reckon Piastri does that if it was for the win and not 2nd?

Also Max’s reaction to that was hilarious.

That was absolutely pathetic by McLaren honestly
What is this championship battle, "If I may, after you"
Definition of "utter woke nonsense"
Being extremely fair with McLaren here, its only really seemed to apply with pitstops and strategy calls specifically, and they are generally free to race at the front, specifically directed from the team, which is far better than what we’ve ever had from Red Bull, Mercedes or Ferrari recently.

I'd class pit stop errors as part of racing, just be interesting to see if they would of done same of it was for 1-2 or if Lando is made to give the place back if that happens to Oscar.

Heck of a drive by Max though, I dont like the guy, but he deserved the w today.

But it's really unfair to Piastri imo. As he said, slow pit stops are part of racing. You don't swap positions with your championship rival because he had a slow pit stop. It's ridiculous. If piastri gets an unfair/unlucky penalty, would they say to Norris to intentionally slow down? Or if one car has a DNF due to an engine failure (like Norris last race) , would you till the other guy to DNF purposefully? It just doesn't work that way.

As @ripper868 stated, pit stops are considered to be part of racing so Piastri was penalised for an error committed by “Norris”

Just odd

The fairness thing is kind of irrelevant.

McLaren only pitted Piastri first to cover Leclerc behind. Norris agreed on team radio to Piastri pitting ahead of him as long as there was no undercut. His race engineer confirmed there would be no undercut.

The loose wheel nut delayed Norris' pit stop by ~4s bringing the undercut into play.

If Norris pits first, has a slow pit and Piastri overcuts next lap then I don't think they swap.
