Division 2.
Round 1

NOBODY

Round 2.

Worc v Middx BEN GIBBON in for ADAM FINCH

Gloucestershire wanted to substitute their whole team, but the ECB wouldn't allow it.

Tom Flint

International Regular
Derby looking like an exciting finish having just lost their 2nd wicket with 100 still to get.
Ben compton a great effort on 99* from over 200 balls to give kent a chance of saving the match.

Molehill

International Coach
Not sure too many would have had cash strapped Sussex being the only team to win their opening 2 games, but here we are....

Is Ollie Robinson simply a misunderstood tactical genius? Or have the signings of Leaning and Price (not the obvious match winners they've turned out to be against Warks) given some new impetus? Either way, that 12 point penalty not looking such a problem to avoid relegation now.

You can add another sub player.

Notts v Glam. Lyndon James on for Fergus O'Neill who's had a great game ( 59 & 36no, 4-24 & 1-42)

How lucky that Notts DON'T play next week.
James then takes 2 key wickets after a stubborn 17 over stand.

Nailed on win for Notts now.

Brilliant start to the season. Still going to lose many of our best players due to financial penalties though. But would be nice to win the championship first!

Thanks for the full listing Tony.

Gloucestershire must be looking forward to playing Lancashire next week. A good chance to finally get some points on the board (at the third attempt).

Wonder what Steven Croft will say after this match. Fronting up after Day 4 after not beating Northamptonshire in R1, he said: "Today, I think, the lads were faultless"

Hungry Llama

State Regular
kyle abbot whos nearly 39 takes 10 to humiliate Yorks at headingley. Sussex recover thanks to unlikely pair of Leaning and Price to beat warks.

This eight day rule is BS. Should be next fixture.
These matters are seldom reversed - I fear it might be here even after the trail. Interesting read in the ECB FAQ:

How often do you anticipate replacement players will be used?

Recent trials in Australian First Class cricket showed that replacement players were used in around 25 per cent of matches, albeit under a slightly different set of rules.

Using this logic, it is anticipated that one or two replacement players will take the field per round of Rothesay County Championship matches, although this number obviously might be higher or lower depending on circumstances.

Not sure the logic stacks up. 2 rounds each of 9 matches = 18 matches. 9 subs used to date (although one was for concussion). That's approaching 50% Even 8/18 is 44%.

Cynically given that only 2 of the 9 were in round 1 (as anticipated) it is possible that the suddenly rise to 6-7 is due to not having games in round 3? Or just increasingly seen as an option?
