even for the novelty of playing on/watching cricket at one of the two closest first-class cricket grounds: the school ground and the OMT ground.
As I recall the school ground was only played on once due to issues with drainage.

I think you are right. I was there in 2014 and was told they were the closest two first class cricket grounds. IIRC their boundaries were close at one point. The local who told me wouldn't know back then that they would not return to the one first used.

What a sob story as well, the "Outgrounds" we play on cost us a lot of money.
Why isn't some of the "Hundred" money GIVEN to Middlesex for this very reason.?
The idea of Middlesex having a permanent home away from Lord’s has being doing the rounds for decades. At one point Ealing was considered, then Radlett. It would though be a very expensive undertaking.

I wonder if the domestic season might have some renewed importance come April/May time? Got a feeling a few England spots may be up for grabs and County performances might actually be considered in future selections.
