Kohli an all format combined ATG but not for those who only count ATG purely based on tests even in modern era.

Kohli greatest white ball batsmen (viv is greatest odi batsmen while kohli greatest in t20i and #2 in odi). Test cricket is where atgs are found if not dre russ and sunil narine also atgs

The factors leading to greatness of a player changes/ evolves with era. Test cricket remains the pinnacle and toughest format but in today’s time, most of the cricketers who play a lot of white ball cricket are prone to be susceptible in Test cricket. For a subcontinent player and even those who play in IPL and other leagues, it is harder to distance themselves from the white ball cricket obsession.

Despite all this, if you manage to achieve greatness for a certain period of time in test cricket and be an all format great at the level Kohli went on to be, you can have a claim to be an ATG.

You guys are harsh judges if a guy with nearly 350 test wickets, a average of 22 and a strike rate of 39.5 isn't already an atg.
Kg is sure atg but his sub continent performances are not good. Agreed he was unluck in pakistan and unlucky to miss india tour but there is still question marks over his performance in sc

Not sure about jaiswal as these days he is throwing his wicket trying to hit every ball for boundary
Think you could say the very same thing about Brook.

Jamie doesn't slash hard after balls outside off stump thrice in an over like jaiswal. Imo smith has better temperment then yashsavi
Patience, temperament, technique can be learnt but sheer talent, nay genius...no!
Smith is a real batting talent but Jaiswal is a tier above. At this still early stage in his career he is attracted to the square cut like a sugar-food addict to chocolate cake but he'll learn discretion and then WG and Co will beckon him into the ATG Elysium.
Remember,the prodigy already averages 50.

Then again I've been hearing about some 14 year-old superkid!!
