Gun performances from both Sardesai and Prasanna there. Prasanna also had a very good tour of Australia in a losing cause in 67-68. 25 wickets in 4 Tests @27. Had vaguely competent support from Rusi Surti but little else. Bedi and Chandra did very little when they played. Prasanna was a serious bowler for a few years there.

Virat post 2020
Overall : 39 Tests. 2028 runs @ 30.

2020 : 3 Tests. 116 runs @ 19
2021 : 11 Tests. 536 runs @ 28
2022 : 6 Tests. 265 runs @ 26
2023 : 8 Tests. 671 runs @ 55
2024 : 10 Tests. 417 runs @ 26
2025 : 1 Test. 23 runs @11

In 2023, he was not good in good form.
30% of total runs came from one innings.

Why shouldn’t he be questioned? Whether it is Virat or even Sachin, they should prove their worth and not be in the team because of their fame

He seems to be talking about his future in the ODI side as he's retired from the other two, and, to be fair, with his recent record there he does have a point. I just really hope that he doesn't become a kind of caricature of himself in a bad way as that would probably affect his legacy somewhat. It definitely affected Dhoni's legacy when that happened with him in the latter portion of his ODI career.

I dont believe in tarnishing a legacy by hanging around. That is on the rest of India to push him out. His legacy is established. Dont be silly and remember the end. This is the same crap that stops people realising Botham was phenominal and end up picking Flintoff or Stokes in their ATG England team.
You pick your ATG team at their best, not at retirement.

He is in excellent form in ODIs, and I believe ODIs in particular (and white ball cricket generally) is the format that best suits him.

Why are there any questions?

I have read A stat on twitter that babar azam has worst 50 to 100 conversion rate among batters who have more then 4000 runs with 9 hundreds and 32 fifties. Fleming is second on list. Its even worst in sena with babar having only 1 hundred to go with 15 fifties. This is reason he hadn't become a great batsmen in test cricket unlike other pakistani greats like maindad and younis

^ Shane Watson saved from "being the worst converter" by the 4000 run cut-off. Watson has 3731 runs with only 4 hundreds and 24 50's (conversion rate of 14.3% to Babar Azam's 22.0%)

I'd get your stats from a more reliable source. Misbah scored 10 hundreds and 39 fifties. Arjuna Ranatunga scored 4 hundreds and 38 fifties, which is distinctly worse (and scored 117 fewer runs in 18 more matches).

I got this figure from a pakistani fan on twitter. It was my mistake of not verifying it. Looking at babar he might well beat misbah by year end

The worst conversion rate from fifty to a century is Niroshan Dickwella the dashing Sri Lankan keeper who has made 17 scores of 50+ with a highest score of 97.
The solid opener Chetan Chauhan made 16 fifties for India without reaching the century mark.
Of those who HAVE made a century Trevor Goddard, that reliable South African all-rounder from 1955-1970,made 18 fifties including a 99,but scored only one Test century late in his career.I have no statistical expertise but this may well be the lowest ratio of centuries to fifties, subject to more detailed analysis and correction by that voracious statistician Starfighter, who will politely advise me if I'm wrong.
