55 days until Test cricket makes a triumphant return...
But, it's gonna be England in June though!

Would have traded that for reversing Warne getting out on 99 from a no-ball in the same game. Poor umpiring and no DRS cost us in the game and the great man from what would have been his only Test hundredText just in from a very old mate who was having lunch with S.Waugh and David Boon today:
I finally have closure. In 2001 NZ played Oz in Perth and were winning. On 5th day Waugh got a big nick and was given not out.
Today I asked point blank if he hit it and he said ''yeah I hit it"
That was the winning of the test but with the oz umpire and no drs we were stuffed.
I needed to know.
I'll give you old mates phone number and you can discuss these issues with himAlso I do recall there was talk after that game that if Gilchrist had come in earlier instead of Waugh Australia probably win the game. Giving Waugh out may not have turned the game the way you think (though it would've have felt so at the time, before we saw Gilchrist come out and dominate)

I already have Fuller Pilch for this purposeI'll give you old mates phone number and you can discuss these issues with him![]()

I remember in 2004 Warney actually threw down his gloves and put on headphones of his walkman coz the crowd noise and chatter was too much for him from the other side of the small partition to the dressing room. He got out for a golden duck or something, obviously.crapinfo article said:One of the batsmen left was Nilesh Kulkarni, slotted in at No. 11 and set for a decisive role in his comeback Test. What he hadn't accounted for was the unsolicited advice from those around him.
"In those days Chennai had only a partial fencing between the players' enclosure and the members' enclosure," Kulkarni says, "and as I sat there, I heard what the members were saying - and many were even trying to talk to me."
Some of the words he overheard:
Nilesh, don't make this another tied Test.
Incidentally, that time the last man in was Maninder Singh, another left-arm spinner.
In that Test also, there was a double-hundred by an Australian batsman.
Nilesh, you should just block and support your partner.
"We all know the Chennai crowd is a hardcore Test-loving crowd. They are very knowledgeable. I was the last man in. So it was adding to all the pressure. The moment Zaheer got out, it felt like my legs weighed 50 kgs."

Noida in India . They have played many of their matches here.SL-Afghan series in UAE just been cancelled. Where are the Afghans gonna play now that the UAE is a warzone? Cant play in Pakistan cos theyr at war with them too.
I dunno why they cannot take such games to somewhat established centres like Singapore and Malaysia. In the 1990s, singapore hosted a couple of tri-nations at Kallang. Malaysia hosted the U-19 World Cup in 2008. My guess being that these upcoming boards might be asking for a fair bit of money for hosting such games.SL-Afghan series in UAE just been cancelled. the kallang ground is gone after the lease expired. none of the other grounds are fit for a proper game other than the padang i guess. malaysia has some nice grounds.I dunno why they cannot take such games to somewhat established centres like Singapore and Malaysia. That said, the logical option for Afghanistan to host their games would be in India. Pretty sure the BCCI would give them a couple of stadiums to host other countries.
They seem to have deleted it now so can't see the op. Seems pretty disrespectful to Crowe and Ponting from them though, given they actually played for Somerset. Particularly Crowe with some of his first 20 actually being for Somerset.
They were obviously very chuffed with young Rew but they need to be more professional & get some proper historian/stats guy involvedThey seem to have deleted it now so can't see the op.
