Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

World in chaos, so let's have a friendly little Pakistan-India debate!

How come Shahid Afridi doesn't win Man of the Match in this one eh? Sachin Tendulkar industrial complex strikes again, it seems. :p
LOL and Pakistan won the game. This is definitely worse than Ajaz getting all 10 and not getting MOM

My favorite batsman of all time Saeed Anwar was sawn off by the Indian ump in both innings by dodgy lbw decisions. Not a winge at India here, as I think non-neutral umpires was always a terrible inadequate system in all countries, and yeah turns out having only 1/2 be neutral wasn't enough for natural bias to not shine through.

Glad we have the systems we have now, honestly.

Yeah it's absolutely wild what a degrading job a lack of cricket IQ can do to a player's career over time, even when paired with some obvious talent.

Fans of *insert your favorite bazballer* should take note.
It always interested me that Afridi even by the time he'd become a complete shot-a-ball slogger (no idea when his mature knocks ended, maybe 2003) he still managed to peel off some impressive high risk test tons in 2005 and 2006 and his final batting average of 36 is pretty damn respectable for such a reckless batter.

In 1985, during the Benson & Hedges World Championship of Cricket in Australia, Ravi Shastri won an Audi 100 car for being Champion of Champions — after scoring 182 runs and taking 8 wickets in the tournament.

It became one of the most iconic individual prizes in 1980s cricket history.

I wonder what happened to this car. If it’s in a museum or something

Text just in from a very old mate who was having lunch with S.Waugh and David Boon today:

I finally have closure. In 2001 NZ played Oz in Perth and were winning. On 5th day Waugh got a big nick and was given not out.
Today I asked point blank if he hit it and he said ''yeah I hit it"
That was the winning of the test but with the oz umpire and no drs we were stuffed.
I needed to know.

Should have asked him about the claimed catch off Lara in '95.

Waugh seems like such a normal, honest dude in retirement compared to all the extroverts who went into commentary (except Brendan Julian, love that bloke)
