John Martin Brown died aged 88 in February, He was scorer for Derbyshire between 2000-2022, Having played and scored in Club Cricket earlier, He also scored a test for India in 2022 vs England, His funeral was today.

Mike Smith has died aged 59, Scotland International and played in the 1999 Cricket World Cup without much success, Best innings for Scotland was 100 vs MCC at Lords in 1994 & was a member of the side who knocked out Worcestershire in the 1998 Natwest Trophy, A fine stroke player who like to entertain. Played a lot of grade cricket in Australia as well, He also played Rugby at a good level and worked as a Sales Rep.

Trevor McMahon has died aged 96, Trevor was New Zealands oldest living Test Cricket since 2020, He was a wicketkeeper who played 5 times for New Zealand in Test matches between (1955-1956). He also played Wellington between (1953-1965) while never been a regular in the state side after being dropped from the test side, He averaged less than 10 with the bat. He was married for 64 years and had 4 sons, He saw out his final years in a retirement village in Wellington.

Eddie Illingworth has died aged 87, Eddie played a medium pace bowler who played for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield between 1961-1964, He appeared in 5 matches and took 15 wickets @27.60, He was called for throwing in a match in 1964 vs South Australia. He was a big player for Victoria Grade Cricket side Fitzroy for a number of years, After his retirement he sat on the Victoria Cricket Association board of directors, He also recieved life membership for Fitzroy for his service to the club.

Lionel Fernando died on March 31st he was 86, he achived something remarkable in Schools cricket scoring a Double Century and taking 10 wickets in the same day, He played for Ceylon (Now Sri Lanka) 12 times with a 1st class average of 27.11. He later emergated to Australia and played Grade Cricket in Melbourne, He was also a Professional for Fieldhouse (South Lancashire League) & Walsden (Central Lancashire League). The Sri Lankan Cricket board honoured him in 2018 for his services to Sri Lanka before their Full International status.

Clive Leach died on 20th March he was 96, Leach was a right handed batsman and a Slow left arm bowler who played his 1st class cricket for Warwickshire (1955-58). Averaging 17 with the bat & 25 with the ball, After his release from Warwickshire he spent 13 years playing minor county cricket for Durham & Buckinghamshire. Leach worked in Television where he became chairman of Tyne Tees TV in the 1980s, He also carried out a good number of senior public sector roles in Yorkshire until 2016. He also served as Durham chairman between 2004-2016 where he helped the club modernise and he overseen their best era ever with 3 County Championships & 2 one day cups, He also owned Catholic newspapers until its closure in 2021

Ian Rutherford died on 2nd April he was 68. He was the older brother of New Zealand Test player Ken, Ian was a right handed batsman who played 79 first class matches for a couple of states over 10 years; averaging 27.10 (5 100s). He also had a spell with Worcestershire in 1976 which was largely unsuccessful as he only appeared twice. After retiring he moved into cricket administration and served as chief executive of Central Otago for 5 years and coached at a local level

Jack Harliwich died on 1st April aged 95. He only appeared in 1 first class fixture for his side Canterbury and that was against Wellington in January 1952. He played a number of times for Canterbury representative sides. He was a Seam bowler who only took 1 wicket in his 1st class match @59. He did have a spell as Canterbury coach in 1983. He was also Patron of his local cricket club Sydenham CC for which he played for a number of years

C. D. Gopinath died today he was 96, A right handed batsman who made his test debut in 1951 vs England of which he scored a half century, He went on to play 8 test matches @22.00, He played for Madras (Now Chennai) & Captained South Zone to, His record in 1st class cricket was 83 Matches with an @43.19, After his career he become a National selector in the 1970s. Gopinath was the last surviving member of India's 1st test win & upon his death was India's oldest test cricketer
