TBH I find it next to impossible to try and compare bowlers to batsmen........my thought is that Haze was a genuine great across the 3 formats. I don't think Dravids white ball career stacks up as well.
Dravid was a decent keeper in ODI tho. IIRC, they made the same AT ODI team recently.

Eh Dravid was a pretty poor keeper in a vacuum IMO. The side did very well with him in the role because other keeping options until Dhoni came along couldn't bat and it helped team balance (specialist batsman at 7 was unusual for the time). You wouldn't want him as a long term keeper if you didn't have to though

Tbh, I think given the modern keeping standards, he was pretty fine. Add his batting, and don't think there are more than 10 people I would select ahead in an ODI as a keeper (MSD, ABD, Gilly, Jos, QdK, Sanga, Hope, Klaasen, Bairstow, maybe the other Rahul but that's it).

Maybe but his batting is doing all the heavy lifting there. I put him about par with Andy Flower as an ODI keeper/bat.

Personally I don't like comparing keeper/bats like that because it can be misleading. If you had both one of Dravid/Flower and also a Boucher/Haddin it would never be a choice between the 2. You'd be playing both and just not make Dravid/Flower keep

Yeah sounds fair.

Depends really. In Tests no cap. In ODIs very much depends on my batting line-up and how much my worst batsman is better than Haddin/Boucher, as simply put, keeping in ODIs is less important than Tests drastically.

If you compare their impact to the game and toward the society, good case can be made for Davey Warner to be superior to root. The way he stood up to racism all those years ago when Amla was getting mocked by non other than dirty joe him self requires courage

He sadly turned to drink because of the trauma he experienced when he saw rhe rampant racism in English cricket, exemplified by Root

You compare their impact and performances across formats and weight them accordingly. Root is a non-event
Ha!

I can only imagine your disgust when you saw what number Root was ranked.

Let me guess: You wouldn't have had him in the Top 25?

I’ve discussed this fulsomely already. His ranking is a joke. Most of them in this list are. Off the top of my head I listed 31 players better than Root this century, however it was a controversial list and after careful consideration I took Williamson out and reduced it to 30.
