2025–26 Australian Domestic Season

Always love it when a team is better than the sum of their parts. Massive turn around for this group from where they were a few years ago.

Thank god this is over. As much as I love SA winning over the state of neo-nazis and AFL pin-dicks, this whole season has been testament to the overall weakness of the competition and it's alleged talent.

Look forward to more disappointment at our future prospects in 26/27.

Disagree in describing SA as this. They're a pretty stacked XI IMO. Liam Scott at 7 could easily bat in the top order. Better players on paper than Vic easily
They definitely have the better batting lineup, and the bowling looks after itself a lot on the sort of decks we've seen the last two seasons.

If Puc is coaching they can double that.

Was a good season for 25 year old allrounders

Scott - 547 runs @ 39.07 (28 wkts @ 23.25)
O'Neil - 472 runs @ 36.30 (35 wkts @ 18.80)
Edwards - 414 runs @ 51.75 (15 wkts @ 27.73)

Actually feels great to kick the Vics after the 2016 and 2017 finals. That SACA side had an amazing bowling attack but was nullified by a pretty benign Alice Springs wicket in the 2017 final. Victoria's batting was too good on both occasions, and ours was not quite good enough.

Victoria seemed the outstanding side in the season prior to the final innings; were those 7 wins often due to the absence of players in other teams in the various national squads? But congrats to SA for pulling it off again, season started pretty poor for them.

Who would you pick in a 2025/26 Shield XI?
(Should have played min. 5 shield games)

I'm thinking

1. Harper (+)
2. Renshaw
3. Patterson
4. Handscomb
5. Lehmann
6. Edwards
7. Scott
8. O'Neill
9. McAndrew
10. Rocchiccioli
11. Boland
