Victorian genetic superiority should win the day but you can never count out dirty South Australian trickery

Victoria's bowling depth is better than SA's, can see the Vics taking 20 wickets on their fortress, while a Handscomb ton is almost a given

I have time for the argument the shield should be awarded at the end of the regular season and to the team at the top of the ladder. But we love a Grand Final in Australia and it's another game of cricket (that hopefully gives an opportunity for a young and/or fringe player to shine) to follow.

You'd have to favour the Vics but I'd like to see the croweaters win the title. Assuming they get selected, looking for runs from Sangha and McSweeney and for their opponents, Kelleway and Peake. Also for Harper to continue his uptick in form. It would be good to have him become a real competitor for Carey. For the bowlers, hoping for good matches for Murphy and Thornton.

we went 90 years without a final just fine

with every major venue not actually being available for the final anymore, i really struggle to see any point in the final anymore. top of the ladder after 10 games should get the shield

I wish it was over. How many summers of endless disappointment in the next batting prospects can I take? Every September to March I set aside those months to make myself emotionally available for parasocial betrayal.

I am not an Australian so don't have stakes on who wins but as a cricket fan i would love to see Peake follow in foot steps of chappell, border, waugh, ponting and smith and be a atg batsmen

Seriously though, team will probably be unchanged. Some chance of of bringing Pope in over a quick (possibly Buckingham) but from what I've read this pitch will be greener than the last one so that is probably not super likely
