These are the results of World Cup matches between the 2 sides:

1995 (final) SA won after the game went to extra time. The All Blacks had food poisoning during the week and there was even vomiting in the final. It is not known whether the food poisoning was accidental or deliberate.

1999 (3rd/4th = bronze medal match so not knock out) SA won

2003 (quarterfinal - knockout) NZ won

2015 (semifinal - knockout) NZ won

2019 (pool match - not knockout) NZ won. SA won the tournament though.

2023 (final) SA won (1 point) Both captains made almost identical dangerous tackles but the Saffa had to go off for 10 minutes, whilst the Kiwi went off for 60 minutes (the rest of the match). The TMO (like 3rd umpire) controversially cancelled a NZ try (5 points) and took play back about 3 mins.

Do we want to talk about Frizell only receiving a yellow when cynically and deliberately taking out our only real hooker in the first minute...

2023 Rugby WC Final was a farce, beyond anything even cricket has seen. That's as crap a world cup victory as it can get, worse than the boundary countback.
