Fletcher leaves India

England coach Duncan Fletcher has temporarily left his side’s tour of India to accompany his sick wife back to South Africa. He will be back in time for England’s next ODI against India on Monday, however.

Fletcher will leave for Cape Town today, and return a few hours before the 3rd ODI in Goa in two days’ time. England media manager James Avery claims “He will definitely be back in India in time for the next One-Day International.”

Further disruption to their preparations will not be welcomed in the camp, with the side already decimated by injuries and 2-0 down in the seven-match series – but as with Marcus Trescothick’s decision to return to England earlier in the tour, family matters must come first.
