Eng vs Pak: Itinerary Announced

The ECB have released the preliminary itinerary for the 2005 winter tour to Pakistan, that if finalized will see a relatively laid back series with three Tests and five ODI’s in a two month period coming off the back of a tough Ashes campaign.

Although the plans are still very much in their early stages, the initial proposal from the ECB is that the Tests should take place in the major Test centres of Karachi, Faisalabad and Lahore; while the one day matches will be split between Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.

Details are in the early stages so details could yet change but the ECB has been careful to avoid the potential trouble areas of the country, however there will still be a detailed security inspection closer to the tour at all of the venues.

It will be England’s first visit of Pakistan since the winter of 2000, when Nasser Hussain’s team won the series 1-0 after a thrilling run-chase in near darkness during the third and final Test in Karachi. England vs Pakistan: Match Report
