While the modern game has become mired in controversy David has been reading about a more innocent age – it seems he enjoyed the experience.
In February 1998 England’s Under-19s won the World Cup in South Africa by comfortably beating New Zealand in the final. In this book David Tossell has looked at the lives and subsequent careers of the 14 members of the England squad (a 15th man, Middlesex all rounder Aaron Laraman, had left the party early due to injury).
Perhaps the first cricket book of its kind; however this does not guarantee a high rating. Have a read of David’s review to see what he thought.
It might be a sad indictment on the history of cricketing publishing that I need to highlight the fact that this is the first review on CW by a female author. 4 stars by Martin suggest it won’t be our last
