Zimbabwe to return to Tests?

International Cricket Council (ICC) chief executive Malcolm Speed has announced that Zimbabwe could return to Test cricket within six months.

Speed went on to tell a media conference in Harare that there would be an evaluation by the ICC first before any firm decision is made and that Zimbabwe could return in six, 12 or 18 months.

Peter Chingoka, the chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket gave no indication on when he would like to see Zimbabwe return to Test cricket.

Chingoka added that more three day and four day cricket had to be played to give the young Zimbabwe team much needed experience leading into a return to the longer form of the game.

Zimbabwe are currently in the middle of playing a five match one-day international series against Bangladesh with the series tied 1-1 after two matches.
