Woolmer not murdered: Police

Former Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer was not murdered, but died a natural death, according to police.

The report by the Scotland Yard comes contrary to the Jamaican police investigation and the local coroners report which deemed the death was the result of foul play.

Jamaican police are expected to announce the news this week and admit they jumped to the wrong conclusion, a conclusion disputed by a UK Home Office pathologist and the Scotland Yard.

According to the Scotland Yard investigation, Woolmer died of natural causes most probably heart failure. Woolmer was known to have long term health issues including diabetes, which is said to have contributed to his death.

Woolmer, 58, was found dead in his hotel room after Pakistan’s shock exit from the 2007 World Cup after losing to Ireland.
